For more than 20 years, Pohnpei Surf Club has guided divers, explorers, adventurers, scientists, and surfers through one of the Pacific’s last untouched corners. We run out of our own dock at Mangrove Bay, and we keep our groups small on purpose — it’s how our local captains and guides can put you in the right spot for the day’s conditions, not just run you through a fixed itinerary.
Pohnpei is a place most travelers have never heard of, and that’s exactly what makes it special. One of four states in the Federated States of Micronesia, it’s a high volcanic island ringed by mangrove forest, barrier reef, and open lagoon — home to many surfable passes, dive sites, and untouched outer atolls than most destinations many times its size, and almost none of it crowded.
Two decades of island knowledge is what turns that raw setting into a trip. We can put you on an uncrowded wave at Palikir Pass, in the water with manta rays at Manta Road, walking the ancient stone city of Nan Madol, hiking to a hidden jungle waterfall, or a full day out at the wild outer atolls of Ahnd and Pakin. Whatever combination you’re after, every trip is built around your interests, the day’s conditions, and our guides’ knowledge of an island most of the world has never explored.
