Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI) is India’s largest shipyard accounting for 30% of the country’s shipbuilding capacity. Located on the west coast of India in Gujarat, SDHI offers a strategic advantage of domestic and international customers. The shipyard offers geographical proximity to key global trade routes and maritime hubs, as well as comprehensive multi-modal connectivity via sea, rail, air and road for inland transportation and logistics.
SDHI offers unmatched facilities for new builds and repairs of commercial and defence vessels, repairs for Jack-Up Rigs, offshore vessels and heavy fabrication for offshore projects in Oil & Gas, Yellow Goods and Offshore wind farms.
Spread across 600+ acres, our shipyard features one of the largest dry docks in the world (662m x 65m) to support vessel build up to 400,000 DWT. The shipyard is home to one of India’s largest fabrication sites, located in a Special Economic Zone, with a dedicated 2.41 Mn sq. ft. of covered shed allowing fabrication all year round. The annual steel fabrication capacity is 144,000 MT.
The shipyard is well positioned to contribute to India’s Maritime vision of being of the top 5 shipbuilding nations by 2047.
