Meghna Institute of Dental Sciences (MIDS) is committed to improving health through excellence in dental education, educating members of the health professions, engaging in basic and applied research, encouraging technology transfer, and developing public and community health programs. MIDS is approved by DCI and affiliated to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences .

Our main objective is to become a highly acclaimed resource for dental education in the state and the largest single provider of oral health care services in the state of Telangana.

The Mission of MIDS is to improve the oral health of population and shape the future of dentistry by developing exemplary dental surgeons, educators and researchers caring for the needs of a diverse community ,serving as a leader in health professions education,seeking innovations in science, education and health care delivery providing educational programmes that foster professionalism, critical thinking and life-long learning .

It is aimed to provide quality care in an environment that is sensitive to the needs of every patient and expand the scientific knowledge base underlying the etiology, progression, prevention and treatment of dental and craniofacial disorders.

Also it is intended to increase opportunities for student participation in community-based training programs for clinical care and health education/promotion and disease prevention.

Facilities

Laboratories

Fully equipped laboratories for Physiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy and Histology are in place. Dissection hall, Cadaver Room, Embalming facilities have been provided. Separate laboratories for Prosthodontics, Dental Materials, Pre-Clinical conservative lab have been established. We have Museum for Anatomy and Dental Materials...

Library

MIDS has all the reference titles. Indian and Foreign Journals, photo copying and Internet facility is available for staff and students.

Dental Speciality Clincs

Academic & treatment activities at MIDS are supervised and guided by experienced, competent and dedicated teaching faculty supported ably by a team of motivated non-teaching and administrative staff. Many people get medical and specialised dental treatment everyday.

Hostel

Separate blocks of Boys & Girls hostel have been constructed to accommodate 100 students. Each hostel is provided with mess and recreation facilities.

Transport

MIDS has one bus, Maruti van, Ambulance and Car for local conveyance.

Hospital

MIDS is attached to Govt. General Hospital, Nizamabad for teaching facilities in Medicine, Surgery, Anaesthesia and allied clinical & medical subjects. The 370-bed Hospital is within 7 Kms from MIDS.

Equipment

MIDS is equipped with most modern equipment. 120 dental chairs with units, laboratory equipment, sterilization units, OPG (orthopantamograph) unit, dental X-Ray machine have already been installed.

Common facilities

The MIDS campus has provision of recreational facilities and amenities such as canteen, cafeteria, cooperative stores, Games and Sports facilities. 25 KVA Generator, Compressed air and LPG is supplied at the clinics for one palce.

Lecture Halls

Two lecture halls, each accommodating 100 students are provided with audio-visual aids.

Staff Quarters

A separate block has been constructed to accommodate faculty.
