The world's best preserved meteorite impact site on Earth.  Located just minutes from Interstate 40 and the old Route 66 in Northern Arizona near Winslow.  Meteor Crater is the spectacular result of a collision that rocked the American Southwest approximately 50,000 years ago with the energy of more than 20 million tons of TNT.  Situated under the wide skies of the Arizona High Desert, Meteor Crater offers an interactive educational experience for the entire family in a beautiful, natural setting.  The Meteor Crater Visitor Center is located on the rim of the Crater.  The fully air-conditioned building features an 80 seat Widescreen theater, indoor crater viewing area, Crater Trail access, Interactive Discovery Center, Artifacts and Exhibits, Gift & Mineral Shop, Collision! 4D Experience Room, and the Blasted Bistro.  Elevators and ADA accessibility are available for guests with special needs.

Meteor Crater is nearly one mile across, 2.4 miles in circumference and more than 550 feet deep. It is an International tourist venue with Outdoor Observation Trails, Air Conditioned Indoor Viewing, Wide Screen Movie Theater, Interactive Discovery Center, Unique Gift & Mineral Shop, and Collision! 4D Experience Room.  Food is also available at our Blasted Bistro in the Visitor Center.

The Meteor Crater RV Park is located just off Interstate 40 exit 233, less than a 1/4 mile to the right. The large parking lot includes a Mobil Gas Station and Country Store for checking in. Set up your lawn chairs, look into the night sky from the Meteor Crater RV Park, and enjoy one of the finest star and sky shows offered in the American Southwest.

The Discovery Center provides a learning experience for all ages.  Audiences are treated to "IMPACT, The Mystery of Meteor Crater" shown in our Big Screen Theater.  Reach three different Lookout Points to view the Crater. Take the Guided Rim Tour (additional 45 minutes to an hour).  Enjoy Collision! 4D Experience Room, have a meal at the Blasted Bistro, and search for a souvenir in our Gift & Mineral Shop.
